I created the #OpenArms campaign for the Marist College Music Department’s annual spring benefit concert. This year the Singers chose to benefit To Write Love on Her Arms. In order to spread the message of the organization and publicize the concert, I asked students and faculty on campus to share their stories through one word that they found important. I asked if they would like to write it on their arm for a photo as well. The photos were distributed on Facebook and Instagram with the #OpenArms. The photos and quotes from interviews were then used in an art display at the concert along with materials from the organization. Social media engagement increased as we saw Instagram posts hit all time highs for our account. This was the most noteworthy part of my semester, and probably the largest contributor to my portfolio.
